The wine list stays close to home, the spirits list does not, and both are priced without theatre.

Salmon, spot prawns, chanterelles and a great deal of the state's wine at fair prices.

Coffee · $

Roasting on site twice a day. The queue at seven is locals and we take that seriously.

Under the glazed roof, warm and dry, with a list built on gin and amaro.

Chowder, a crab roll and a very good burger, in a room with a fire and no music.

Breakfast · $

Eggs, hash, biscuits and a Dutch baby that takes twenty minutes and is worth the wait.

Practical

Every kitchen keeps an allergen matrix at the pass and every menu is available in large print. Tell whoever seats you and they will tell the kitchen.

Welcome everywhere except the gaming floor and the bars after 8 PM. There is a proper children's menu rather than three fried things.

Full vegetarian and vegan options at every venue, not a single substitution, and gluten-free bread made rather than bought in.

There is no dress code anywhere. We ask for smart dress in one room late in the evening and we ask it kindly.
